Local dance club hosting event | Events

The Evansville River City Bop Club, a local dance club that focuses on East and West Coast Swing as well as several other genres of dance, is organizing the 1st Annual River City Swing Fling on March 24. This is a one day event located at the VFW Post 1114 located in Evansville.

Professional Dancers Mike and Kim Nelson from Little Rock, members of the American Bop Association Hall of Fame, will be featured.  The couple is heavily involved in the promotion and expansion of swing dance both locally and across the country.

River City Swing Fling will consist of a one day workshop beginning at 10:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. that afternoon. The day will consist of 6 workshops that will be geared toward dancers of all abilities...from beginner to advanced. There will be a break for the afternoon with everyone returning at 7:00 that evening with an open dance for anyone to attend. Mike and Kim Nelson will be performing a demo at 8:00 p.m.

ERCB is a non-profit dance organization directed toward the entertainment and fellowship of all those who love to dance. ERCB promotes dance not only as a form of entertainment for individuals and couples, but also as a form socializing and a way for people of all ages to stay fit.

The club meets every Wednesday night at the Eagles FOE 427 at 7:00 P.M. with a dance lesson beginning at 7:15 and open dancing until 10:00 P.M.

ERCB will also be participating in the "Day of Dance" event taking place in February.
